Priority of Access

The following priority of access guidelines shall apply:
  • Children at risk of serious abuse or neglect
  • A child of a single parent of parents who both satisfy the work/training/study criteria
  • Children of families which include a person with a disability
  • Children of socially isolated families
  • Children of families on low incomes
  • Children of families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Children of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families
The secondary priority of access will be accorded to siblings of children who are already enrolled at the service.

Enrolment Process

For families who wish to register their child/children for enrolment into Pelican, the following is the typical enrolment process:

Visit Pelican
Step 3
Provided with Pelican brochure and enrolment-related information
Step 4
Confirm on enrolment intention
Step 5
Provided with Pelican Orientation and Enrolment Packages
Step 6
Submit all required documents
Step 7
Approve child’s enrolment via myGov
Step 8
Arrange for Orientation Day
Step 9
Confirm on the first day of enrolment
Step 10
Make payment for Enrolment Fee (non-refundable) and first-week full fees via EFTPOS

Approve child’s enrolment via myGov
Arrange for Orientation Day
Confirm on the first day of enrolmen
Make payment for Enrolment Fee (non-refundable) and first-week full fees via EFTPOS

Documents Requirement

The following supporting documents are required during enrolment:
  • A copy of the child's Birth Certificate
  • A copy of the child's most recent Australian Childhood Register history statement, OR a copy of an excepted exemption form
Note: It is important that we receive ongoing updates on the child’s immunisation history. If otherwise, the child will risk exclusion from the Centre if a communicable disease breaks out, as well as cancellation of your Child Care Subsidy (CCS) entitlements by Centrelink.
